New! A Doppia Faccia - The Movie Review Site!

Hi! Thank you for dropping by. Here, you can check some of the films I made in my school years (including the class projects), along with my personal info (not too personal!). This site is mainly created for my friends, but also for those who are interested in some interesting student/low budget short films . I also have a film review (criticism) site which is OFFICIALLY OPEN now. Many parts are still under construction, but will be functional as I have more time to spend on it. Anyway, this site (Silenzio's Film Page) is still under development, but at least you can watch one of my films, the latest one, for those of you interested.

I went to San Francisco State University to study Cinema , and was graduated this May (now resides in Santa Monica, CA). It was a pretty good school for those who want to study about the filmmaking , as well as the film study , but that doesn't seem to guarantee the immediate results in the future. What I've learned in the last few months month trying to look for a job is that the school might teach you how to make your own student/short films, but NOT how to work in the professional productions. Just to be a professional PA, you have to learn many things before getting paid well because basically schools don't teach you how to be a good PA (which you normally have to start with). Your knowledge in filmmaking might help you in the future when you do some key positions, but you'll have to start out from the bottom, anyway. More, the worst thing is that even finding a PA job is very difficult in this business because you won't find any listings for filmmaking on the newspapers. It's kinda stupid not to be able to find a job (even the lowest job) easily after getting a degree in college (where you are supposed to learn to be professional), but this seems to be the way it is. So, for people who are interested in getting hooked up in the industry and working there in the future, the best bet is to do the internship as soon as you can (possibly during your school years) to make connections with people in the business who might pay you later on, OR make a great short film or two and exhibit your talent in whichever way you can!

So, this is a site specifically exhibiting what I've done at school for people who might be interested, as well as those who might want to hire me. I think it is a great opportunity to be able to show films sans distributors over the Internet, so anyone can view them if/when they want. I hope you'd enjoy things you'd find in this web site!

Ciao!

10/14 - After experiencing the production which was done in the soundstage, I've come to the conclusion that it was still a good idea to go to school and study the film production. Especially, the directing class (and its sister class, the shadow crew class) I took in my university have you work on the productions (class projects) that are done in the set , so you'll get the good idea of what to do in the set, such as what to do to build up & tear down the set. ALSO, this class (especially the shadow crew class) teaches you the idea of importance to help people during the shooting because you'll learn the fact - you won't be helped unless you help them first . Helping each other is the way to go in this class, so you naturally get motivated to help other people.

10/17 - Finally, my movie review site A Doppia Faccia is officially open. In the last 2 days, I put up 3 reviews total (1 for film, 2 for soundtracks), but they are written quite bad... (they were written over 2 years ago when I originally created that site). Well, I'll eventually revise them, but in the meantime, I'll try to find more time to write more reviews, as movie review sites are basically useless without enough amount of reviews. Anyway, try this site and tell me what you think. Thanks!
